At Dog Dynamics our mission is to provide a support structure for dogs and owners which will result in a dog that can reach their full potential as a member of the family. Early socialization, learning important life skills and addressing behaviour issues timeously are key to helping dogs live in harmony with us and those around us.

Understanding your dog and knowing how to control him, develop his potentials, and resolve behavior problems, emotional conflicts and frustrations are no less essential than love and respect.

I have volunteered/worked at various animal shelters. This gave me hands on experience working with many different dogs including difficult dogs. I have also fostered dogs and have reared numerous puppies. I have been working as a full-time professional dog trainer teaching adult obedience classes, puppy socialisation classes and fun agility classes since 2007.  I have a keen interest in the sport of canine freestyle. I am member of Dancing with Dogs in Africa, Rally-Free Elements and I am currently the chairperson of Dancing with Dogs in Cape Town. I am also the Western Cape representative for the South African Dog Dancing Association.  In 2011 I completed a course with top canine freestyler Michele Pouliot in Canine Freestyle through the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behaviour. In 2014 I completed the Puppy Start Right Instructors course through the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behaviour (USA I am also a certified Canine Hoopers World Instructor.  I keep up to date on the latest dog training trends through seminars and on-line courses. Annika Lefson

I first started dog training when I was 16 years old and adopted my puppy, Bambi. My interest peaked when I fostered a dog with anxiety and we worked alongside a trainer to help him build more confidence, and prepare him for a forever home. In 2020 I completed my Canine Behaviour and Training Diploma through Pet Sense College, and I am in the process of completing the Canine Aggression Diploma through Pet Sense. Studying through Pet Sense has also made me a stronger advocate for positive reinforcement training methods. I am aiming towards becoming a dog behaviorist and spend a lot of my time reading up on various training and behaviour topics.

Annika & Bambi

I have volunteered and worked in animal welfare for 4 years, which has allowed me to meet and work with dogs with different temperaments and some more difficult dogs. I have fostered many dogs and puppies over those 4 years. I currently have 4 rescue dogs at home, which definitely has made things interesting, they have all helped me grow as a trainer and continue to motivate me every day.
